

| Dr. Abbe Barron, DMD, PhD is a clinical psychologist licensed in California. Dr. Barron (PSY21730) holds a number of professional degrees and has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings throughout her private and professional life. She is a parent of exceptional children, a dentist and educator, and a clinical psychologist who both provides therapy and conducts assessments. She holds a DMD in dental medicine from Tufts University, a M.Ed from Boston University in counseling education/psychology and a PhD from California Graduate Institute in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Barron worked extensively with children and families at the Julia Ann Singer Center at Vista del Mar during her pre-doctoral training. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in child and adolescent assessment at the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center, at Vista del Mar. Dr. Barron provides comprehensive psychological, educational and neuropsychological diagnostic services to children, adolescents, and young adults. Her specializations include testing for ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, memory problems and psychological disorders. In addition, she provides school consultation (for both private and public schools), provides outreach and staff trainings as well as parent education, and conducts functional behavioral assessments to improve classroom functioning. She attends IEP and school meetings providing diagnosis intervention, treatment planning and accommodations for school and standardized testing. Dr. Barron’s vast medical and dental experience helps her understand complex neurological issues and medical disabilities. She served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry, Division of Health Promotion, Disease Prevention, and Epidemiology, Los Angeles, CA., an Assistant Clinical Director of Oral Health Programs, at the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center, a National Consultant in the HIV/AIDS field, and has had a private dental medicine practice. She has provided comprehensive care of medically and/or emotionally compromised patients in the Special Patients’ Clinic, supervised and taught dental students diagnosis, technical knowledge and skills, patient management, time management, and practice management. Her research and outreach work in the area of HIV/AIDS education of training is nationally known. She has given numerous lectures throughout the US on healthcare topics that affect children and adults. |
