Our Experienced Staff includes a Doctoral Level neuropsychologist, clinical psychologist, Master's level psychologists, and a Master's level social worker. As we are also a training site for several local universities' Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Psychology Training programs, we have interns and students to assist us as well. Intern services are generally provided at a much lower cost than our typical services. Dr. Ann Simun, PsyD, has been working professionally with children with learning and behavioral challenges since 1989. She is a licensed psychologist (PSY20113), with a specialization in neuropsychology. She also is a credentialed and experienced School Psychologist, making her eligible to conduct IEEs for school district disputes. She was also licensed as an Educational Psychologist. She is listed with the National Register of Healthcare Providers in Psychology, and is a member of American Psychological Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, International Neuropsychological Society, and the Association for Psychological Science. (more...) Mr. Ron Park, MA, holds a Master’s degree in psychology from University of North Dakota. In addition, he holds a Master’s degree in psycholinguistics from Vermont College of Norwich University. He is currently completing his PhD. He has worked in education- and psychology-related fields for more than 15 years. Specific areas of interest/expertise include rehabilitation of brain injury, reading disorders, and language-based learning disorders. Mr. Park is an experienced graduate and undergraduate instructor in the areas of psychometrics, statistics, research methods, cognitive psychology, and other areas of psychology. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at numerous scholarly conferences on topics ranging from the effects of steroids on the development of brains in rats to specific bases underlying reading disorders, the impact of caffeine and alcohol on neuropsychological test performance, malingering of amnesia, and the real world challenges of persons living with brain injury. He is the parent of an exceptional child. Sylvia Gribbell, MSW, is a Social Worker who graduated from University of Southern California. She works in the area of case consultation and case coordination, assisting families and local agencies with coordination services to create seamless and effective treatment programs for children with special needs. She conducts parent and staff training on advocacy, service provision, and stress management. She provides counseling services to parents of children with exceptional needs to help manage the daily challenges of working in a system which can be extremely difficult. She also enjoys assisting people in coping with the joys and stresses of parenting. She is the parent of an exceptional child, and is bilingual in English/Spanish. Lance Miller, MA, is a psychological assistant working under the clinical supervision of Dr. Simun. He is completing his doctorate in clinical psychology. He has worked as a college enrollment counselor and advisor, and currently does psychotherapy with individuals, couples and families. His field includes marital therapy, trauma therapy, and working with individuals with a variety of needs, including personality disorders, brain injury and substance abuse/dependence. |
